HEADQUARTERS 3D INFANTRY DIVISIONCORPORAL DAVID LARACUENTE, RA10404945, Army Medical Service, Medical Company, 65th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division, United States Army. In an assault on Hill 88 near Myongil, Korea, on 19 February 1951, Company "G", 65th Infantry suffered a number of casualties caused by enemy mortar and small arms fire. While under an intense enemy barrage, Corporal LARACUNTE hastily selected an aid station site, improvised litters of straw and tree limbs and organized carrying parties for the wounded. Disregarding his own personal safety, he also supervised the evacuation of the wounded until the arrival of the battalion litter bearers. Corporal LARACUENTE'S display of outstanding courage and initiative reflects great credit upon himself and the military service. Entered the military service from Puerto Rico.

AWARD OF THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL - BY direction of the President, under the provisions of Executive Order 9419, 4 February 1944 (section II, WD Bulletin 3, 1944), and pursuant to authority in Army Regulation 600-45, and Department of the Army Message W89043, the Bronze Star Medal with Letter "V" device for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States is awarded to the following named enlisted men :
