On 16 December
1950, near Songhung-ni, Korea, Corporal Perez Ramos was
a member of a
volunteer group that participated in an attack upon enemy
positions.
During the ensuing action this group came under heavy small
arms, automatic
weapons, and grenade fire, causing a few casualties. Corporal
Perez
Ramos without regard for his personal safety, under heavy
enemy fire,
assisted in locating and evacuating the wounded, and accomplishing
the
mission of the volunteer group. The courage, and heroism
displayed by
Corporal Perez Ramos reflect great credit upon himself
and the military
service. Entered the military service from Puerto Rico.
