16 December 1950,
near Hamhung, Korea, Corporal Soto distinguished himself
as an aid man
while his unit was under fire by an attacking enemy. When
two members
of one of the company's platoons were wounded, Corporal
Soto moved
through intense enemy, as well as friendly fire, to administer
first-aid.
In spite of the complete darkness and the danger involved,
he successfully
reached the wounded men, administered first-aid, and evacuated
them.
Corporal Soto's determination, personal courage, and outstanding
devotion
to duty not only reflect great credit upon himself but
are in keeping
with the highest traditions of the military service. Entered
the military
service from Puerto Rico.
