Corporal Ramo J. Cacho, RA30412477, Infantry, Company
"A", 65th Infantry,
United States Army. On 13 October 1950, near Yong-dong,
Korea, Corporal Cacho
gunner of a rocket launcher, displayed gallantry in action
while on a combat
patrol with his platoon. As the patrol progressed, it
was fired on by a well
concealed enemy. Immediately the members of the patrol
sought cover with the
exeception of Corporal Cacho who, from an exposed position,
began delivering
such accurate and devastating fire that the enemy was
forced to disperse leaving
behind his weapons and equipment. The fearless heroism
displayed by Corporal
Cacho was an inspiration for the other members of his
unit and
reflects great credit upon himself and the military service.
Entered the
military service from Puerto Rico.
