MASTER SERGEANT MIGUEL A. PEDRAZA, RA10403440, Infantry, Company "A", 65th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division, United States Army. On 11 April 1951, near Yonggan-Myon, Korea, while returning from a reconnaissance mission, Sergeant PEDRAZA'S patrol was subjected to heavy mortar fire. Discovering that two of the members of the patrol had been seriously wounded, Sergeant PEDRAZA fearlessly left his covered position to go to their assistance. After administering first aid he carried one of the wounded infantrymen approximately 100 yards over the fire-swept terrain to the safety of a litter jeep. Returning over the hazardous route, he secured the other stricken soldier and again made the hazardous trip to the litter jeep where his comrades received valuable medical attention. Sergeant PEDRAZA'S selfless heroism reflects the highest credit upon himself and the military service. Entered the military service from Puerto Rico.
