Private First Class LEONZA B. JACKSON, RA13467585, Infantry, Company "I", 65th Infantry Regiment, 3d Infantry Division, United States Army. On the afternoon of 25 June 1953, in the vicinity of Sangdong-ni, Korea, Private JACKSON, a truck driver volunteered to recover a trailer loaded with vital equipment from an area exposed to enemy observation. With disregard for his personal safety, he moved into the hazardous area. Soon the activity was noticed by the enemy and artillery fire began falling in the area. He courageously continued on his way to the trailer and, despite the intense barrage, recovered the essential equipment and returned with it to the friendly lines. Private JACKSON'S outstanding heroism and devotion to duty reflect great credit upon himself and the military service. Entered the Federal Service from Virginia.
