GENERAL ORDERS - NUMBER 184 11 June 1951AWARD OF THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL - By direction of the President, under the provisions of Executive Order 9419, 4 February 1944 (Sec II, WD Bul 3, 1944), and pursuant to authority in AR 600-45, the Bronze Star Medal with Letter "V" device for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States is awarded to the following named officer and enlisted men :
SERGEANT ANGELO QUINTANA, RA42074531, Infantry, Company "K", 65th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division, United States Army. On 6 December 1950, near Majong-Dong, Korea, when a "K" Company patrol was pinned down by intense enemy fire, Sergeant QUINTANA led two mortar squads through an intense hail of enemy small arms fire to the aid of the beleaguered patrol. Although exposing himself to hostile fire, Sergeant QUINTANA, with no regard for his own safety, adjusted effective mortar fire on the enemy, enabling the patrol to make a successful withdrawal. Sergeant QUINTANA had his men remained in position until all ammunition was exhausted before they withdrew. The heroism and devotion to duty displayed by Sergeant QUINTANA reflect great credit upon himself and the military service. Entered the military service from the State of New York.
