GENERAL ORDERS - NUMBER 123 6 May 1951AWARD OF THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL - By direction of the President, under the provisions of Executive Order 9419, 4 February 1944 (Sec II, WD Bul 3, 1944), and pursuant to authority in AR 600-45, the Bronze Star Medal with Letter "V" device for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States is awarded to the following named enlisted men :
SERGEANT NICOLAS CHICLANA, RA6674844, Infantry, Company "C", 65th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division, United States Army. On 14 February 1951, in the vicinity of Nohn-dong, Korea, a platoon of Company "C" was engaged in a fire fight with the enemy. When the platoon ran short of ammunition, Sergeant CHICLANA left his position of comparative safety, ran back to the company ammunition point, picked up a supply of ammunition, and returned to the fire fight. With complete disregard for his own safety, he took ammunition to each man under enemy fire until all had been resupplied. The intrepid action of Sergeant CHICLANA reflects great credit upon himself and the military service. Entered the military service from Puerto Rico.
