GENERAL ORDERS - NUMBER 274 12 July 1951AWARD OF THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL - By direction of the President, under the provisions of Executive Order 9419, 4 February 1944 (Sec II, WD Bul 3, 1944), and pursuant to authority in AR 600-45, the Bronze Star Medal with Letter "V" device for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States is awarded to the following named enlisted men :
SERGEANT ROMULO QUINONES, RA30420892, Infantry, Comapny "B", 65th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division, United States Army. On 27 April 1951, Company "B" was holding a blocking position on Hill 476, which the enemy had been futilely attacking since early morning. Shortly after dawn, the bugle-blowing enemy launched a final assault, immediately advancing on a combat outpost on the crest of the hill. Sergeant QUINONES and his comrades within the emplacement fought stubbornly and delayed the enemy long enough to permit the company to regroup and charge through the circling hostile forces. Sergeant QUINONES heroic fortitude reflects great credit upon himself and the military service. Entered the military service from Puerto Rico.
