CORPORAL (then PRIVATE FIRST CLASS) JORGE L. RODRIGUEZ, RA30451499, Infantry, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 65th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division, United States Army. On 26 April 1951, near Ilbisang-ni, Korea, the enemy launched a fierce attack against Second Battalion positions and, after securing commanding terrain, isolated the command post from the rest of the battalion. With no regard for his own safety, Corporal RODRIGUEZ, accompanied by two other enlisted men, ran through a heavy concentration of hostile machine gun fire to the aid of awounded comrade. Assisted by his two companions, he brought the wounded soldier to the aid station for treatment. Returning to his position, he voluntarily helped evacuate his wounded company commander and then joined in counterattacking the enemy positions. Corporal RODRIGUEZ'S heroic actions reflect great credit upon himself and the military service. Entered the military service from Puerto Rico.
