GENERAL ORDERS - NUMBER 194 - 16 June 1951AWARD OF THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL - By direction of the President, under the provisions of Executive Order 9419, 4 February 1944 (Sec II, WD Bul 3, 1944), and pursuant to authority in AR 600-45, the Bronze Star Medal with Letter "V" device for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States is awarded to the following named enlisted men:
SERGEANT ARCADIO COLON MARRERO, RA30405804, Infantry, Company "B", 65th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division, United States Army. On 27 April 1951, near Uijongbu, Korea, Sergeant COLON MARRERO and his comrades were occupying a combat outpost on top of Hill 476, when an enemy force which had surrounded their company area, attacked. Sergeant COLON MARRERO fought a courageous delaying action which allowed the company to break out of the encirclement. Thus, by risking his life and holding his position in the face of the fierce attack, he contributed immeasurably to the accomplishment of his company's mission. Sergeant COLON MARRERO'S heroism and perseverance reflect great credit upon himself and the military service. Entered the military service from Puerto Rico.
